Laconia Motorcycle Week 2010 - Celebrating the 87th Anniversary!

Greetings from Charlie & Jennifer….

87th Anniversary!

It is our goal every year to ensure that you, our guest, enjoy yourself and has a safe trip to and from New Hampshire for Motorcycle Week. We know that is has been increasingly more difficult for people to vacation over the past few years. We are doing all we can to make sure when you come to Motorcycle Week that there are still plenty of events to take part in without huge costs. We know it’s hard enough to cover the cost of lodging and food. We thank our partners in businesses around the state who have worked hard to not increase prices each year. We thank you those businesses that charge a nominal $5 parking fee instead of the taking the opportunity to gouge our motorcycle enthusiasts.

This year we have worked hard to increase awareness of this Rally nationwide with a new marketing campaign, new motorcycle shows throughout the year and a brand new website to encourage more new people and new events to Laconia Motorcycle Week. This year marks the 87th Anniversary (working our way to the 90th!) and there is still plenty to do: Here’s some of what you can expect at this year’s Rally – so make sure you mark your calendar: Kickoff your week by participating in the 4th Annual Peter Makris Memorial Ride and any other great charity ride that occurs on Saturday. Make sure you set time aside on Sunday for attending the 2nd Annual Toy Run Parade to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway where you can check out the 87th Loudon Classic! The Ride to the Sky up Mount Washington will once again be open for “Bikes Only” on Monday and Thursday of Motorcycle Week. Plan a day at the Hillclimb/Drag Races at Gunstock Mountain Resort on Wednesday. You also want to make sure to set aside time for all of the bike shows, swap meets, blessings and all the street action on Lakeside Avenue. There is so much to do that we could never list it all here so make sure to check out the schedule of events to plan your days and nights.

As we continue to prepare for Motorcycle Week, there will be more changes and new additions to plan for, so make sure you continuously check out the Official Motorcycle Week website (www.laconiamcweek.com) for updates. You can also pick up the 2nd edition of the Laconia Rally News at Rally Headquarters at the Weirs Beach Waterslide when you come into town. Rally Headquarters is also the place to pick up your Official Souvenirs and to get any updated information that has been passed along to us. If you really want to see our beautiful state, make sure to plan on attending some of the Gypsy Tours that will be held during Motorcycle Week – many leaving from Rally Headquarters. These tours will bring you on some great rides around New Hampshire, so be sure to check them out. There are also great poker runs and charity rides throughout the week so make sure you check out the article about these various rides in this magazine. Since we have your attention still, we want to remind everyone when traveling around before, during and after Motorcycle Week to Ride Safe and please – keep away from that centerline. So many accidents could be avoided if people on either side stayed away from the centerline. It offers no room for error, so please be careful and don’t drink and ride.

On behalf of the Board of Directors for the Laconia Motorcycle Week Association, we would like to thank the State of New Hampshire for their large financial contribution to this Rally. We also want to thank all public safety and law enforcement officials for their endless hard work and efforts to keep everyone safe. Laconia Motorcycle Week is proudly presented by: Progressive Motorcycle Insurance, Budweiser & Hot Leathers. Our other great sponsors include: AMSOIL, Jägermeister, Pepsi, the Weirs Beach Lobster Pound, and J&P Cycles. We look forward to seeing all of you come to New Hampshire for Motorcycle Week, so please stop in at Rally Headquarters to say “Hi”!

Ride Safely and Keep Away from the Centerline! Laconia Motorcycle Week – June 12th- 20th, 2010!

Happy Trails,
